Every. single. day. thousands of distressed cats are sitting alone in shelter cages where they must endure the intense fear and loneliness of abandonment as well as the risk of being euthanized. This reality hurts us deeply, and this is why we are here. Since our inception in August of 2012, we have rescued and transformed the lives of 2488 shelter cats. We are Golden Paw Society, a 501c3 charitable organization managed entirely by volunteers and the only rescue on Long Island that is 100% dedicated to shelter cats. We rely solely on the kindness and contributions of others to continue our shelter cat rescue mission. Having no paid staff, every dollar we receive goes directly to the rescue of shelter cats and their care at our Adoption Center.
If you want to adopt one of our cats, fill out our online Adoption Application and we will contact you. Of course, meeting the cat is the key so if you've been approved but change your mind after visiting with us that's okay! We strive to make the right match for you and for our rescued cats.
