This does not obligate you to adopt, but gives the foster home an idea of your home environment as well as what you are looking for in a new pet to assist us in determining if the pet may be a suitable match for your family. The Coles County Animal Shelter and Rabies Control is located between Mattoon and Charleston Illinois. We are a Coles County taxpayer funded facility. We pick up stray and injured animals. Cruelty cases are investigated. Our facility houses animals waiting to be claimed by their owners and animals waiting for new homes.
