The Montgomery County Humane Society, Inc., doing business as Gateway Area Humane Society, is incorporated under the laws of the Commonwealth of Kentucky dating from February 2, 1982 as a non-stock, non-profit corporation. We are run entirely by volunteers; we have no paid staff. We are not a public animal shelter and we do not provide animal control services for the public. We take our task of finding responsible homes for our rescued pets very seriously as we are the only voice they have, and we have only one chance to get it right. We often rely on foster homes for the animals we rescue. We are constantly seeking reliable/responsible foster homes. If you are interested in fostering an animal, please contact us for an application.
Every potential adopter must complete an application and pass a simple list of criteria.
