Furry Nation Salvation was established in 2010 and is a 501(c)3 foster based & volunteered run rescue located in Florida. We commit our resources throughout Volusia County and surrounding areas in finding permanent homes for abandoned, unwanted, and neglected animals. We also promote, practice, and work in the area of TNR (trap, neuter, return). This method of population reduction and control for feral cats has proven to be successful and we are committed to this method. Furry Nation Salvation is passionate about education and strives to inform the public on the importance of spay and neutering their pets and provide locations where they are able to do so at a discounted price. We also love to educate on the importance of proper pet health and every adopter gets a 4-page informational packet to help them along to have a successful adoption. We also assist in transporting animals to and from veterinary clinics, and help individuals place their unwanted pets utilizing our “Rehoming Assistance Program” who would otherwise be dumped at an animal shelter with an uncertain future. We do so by utilizing social media and animal adoption sites and always making ourselves available with support and advice. We love what we do and together we make a difference for so many.
1. WHAT TO BRING: Don’t forget to bring a cat carrier & driver’s license. 2. MEET THE KITTIES: We allow you to meet your kitty in a smaller room. We shut the door so you can get to know your new friend on your own. 3. PAPERWORK TIME: Once you’ve chosen your new family member-it is time to complete the paperwork. We go over all the details thoroughly and you get a copy of any vet documentation and the pet’s history. You are sent home with a copy as well. 4. INFORMATIONAL PACKET: Furry Nation Salvation is passionate on pet education so you have a successful adoption with your new friend. We go over a packet with demonstrations on why canned wet food given daily is vital for your cat’s health, teach you how to cut their nails (and preserve your furniture), explain how to properly discipline (and keep their trust), and demonstrate how easy it is to take care of your pets teeth using enzymatic pet toothpaste. We will give you a copy of this packet as well. You can view it here: 5. ADOPTION FEE/WHAT IT COVERS: Our adoption fee is typically $75 for kittens and $45 for adult cats and covers: Spay/Neuter, All 3 FVRCP (kitten’s core vaccines), Rabies vaccine, Deworming (5 days of panacur), 30-day flea preventative, Microchipping (with free registration). Our fees can be higher for particular breeds. Our fees can also be lower than $45 for older cats. 6. SAY CHEESE: The best way to document the adoption day is with a photo! And well-We LOVE a good photo….so be prepared as we may take more than just a few. Don’t worry-we will text them right over to you! 7. COMING BACK FOR FURTHER VETTING: If you adopt a kitten that is too young to be fixed, they are required to come back to us for their spay/neuter & further vaccinations at a later time (typically at 4-5 months of age). We do have options if you chose to use your own vet that we can discuss. We will make the spay/neuter appointment work for anyone’s schedule as you are able to arrive to us as early as needed and pick up as late as you need. We take the pet to and from the clinic.
