FurEver Animal Rescue, located in San Pablo, serving the San Francisco Bay Area strives to provide a nurturing foster environment and compassionate medical care to homeless puppies, dogs, kittens and cats and help prepare them to find their new FurEver homes.
We deeply care for all our furry friends and finding just the right FurEver home for them is of the utmost importance to us. While our adoption process is simple, it is also comprehensive. Please take note of the following so that you are prepared: Adoption Questionnaire - we need to better understand your personal and home situation for our furry friends (including other pets in the household, work schedule, housing setup, etc....) to ensure it will be a good match. As well, we want to be sure you clearly understand your responsibilities and commitment to the proper care of your pet. This form can be completed in advance of the actual adoption to expedite the process. Just print out this Adoption Questionnaire, fill it out and bring it with you to our adoption events. We will review and approve if everything is in good order. When you find your perfect furmate, there is an Adoption Agreement which includes you agreeing to bring your new furry friend to the Animal Care Clinic to finish any vaccinations or spaying/neutering (if necessary), how your new companion will be treated, providing FurEver Animal Rescue with the first option of taking back your pet if you can no longer care for it, etc. There is one Adoption Agreement for each pet you adopt from FurEver Animal Rescue and will be executed at time of adoption. If you live in a rental, we will need a copy of your rental agreement or a letter on letterhead from your landlord indicating that pets are allowed in your home as well as any restrictions such as size, weight or breed. Bringing this to an adoption event will also expedite the adoption process. At an adoption event, you have the option of making your adoption donation via cash, check or credit card. Your adoption donation is 100% tax deductible. Foster to Adopt - should you like to try out having a new furry friend as a part of your home before taking the final step to adopt, we will have you fill out a Foster to Adopt form. This agreement allows you to keep your cat or dog for up to 4 days. During this time, your furry friend is still owned by FurEver Animal Rescue. If you choose to adopt, it is simply an additional signature on the form and your adoption donation to complete the process. Should you decide to foster a pet to assist our continuing efforts to find them a FurEver home, there is a Foster Home Contract with fostering guidelines in which you agree to make this pet a part of your family and to take appropriate measures to ensure its safety along with quality care of it while it is in your charge. As well, you agree to bring the pet to any adoption events so that they can find their FurEver home. The pets are owned by FurEver Animal Rescue. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding and look forward to helping you find just the perfect furry friend. In the end, it's all about helping our furry friends - their lifelong happiness and well-being! If you have any questions, please feel free to email fureveranimalrescue@yahoo.com.
