Custer County Friends for Life Society was established in 2003 and received 501 ( c ) (3) tax status in January of 2004. The purpose of the organization is to provide a caring, safe and loving environment for abused and abandoned animals. We are devoted to adopting these animals into loving, responsible homes. Our mission also includes educating the public regarding the proper care and treatment of animals as well as the need to spay and neuter pets. Custer County Friends for Life Society (dba Friends For Life Animal Society) built a new shelter on the south side of Clinton, OK in June of 2017. We are helping animals from Weatherford, Clinton, and the surrounding areas in western OK. The shelter includes a main building, with an animal receiving area, a quarantine kennel area, food preparation room, laundry, clinic area, and administrative office. We have an attached kennel building to house dogs with runs to the outside and two play yards. A cattery room is included.
If you know which pet you would like to make a forever home for, please fill out the adoption form. If you have any questions regarding adoption or any of our animals please contact us. We work hard to keep up with the adoption inquiries and will respond to you as quickly as possible. An adoption counselor will call you for phone interview as soon as possible or will e-mail you with additional information on the pet. All of our dogs are at the shelter where you can come meet them, but some of our cats are in individual foster homes, so a convenient appointment time will need to be arranged before viewing animals. This can usually be arranged within a day or two but could take longer. We do not ship our pets, they must be picked up in Oklahoma. Approved applicants may make appointments to meet the animal or can visit us at an adoption event. Completing the adoption application is not a commitment to adopt. You will be asked to complete an Adoption Contract after the adoption process (references, visitations, meeting with selected animal, etc) is completed.
