Seeing a need for energetic, nonprofit work in animal welfare, we formed our non-profit organization to provide sensible solutions to saving homeless cats. We've consistently grown since then, all thanks to the helping hands of this amazing community! Focus on Ferals is a non-profit, all-volunteer organization, which was founded in 2011, and is dedicated to humanely reducing the feral and stray cat population in Malone NY and surrounding areas through a variety of methods without euthanasia. With our Trap, Neuter, and Return program, feral cats are humanely trapped, evaluated, vaccinated, and sterilized by veterinarians. Adult feral cats are returned to their familiar habitat with a caregiver. Under our adoption program, the kittens and/or socialized adult cats are temporarily placed with foster families until they can be permanently adopted into good homes.
We screen all adoption applications thoroughly. We want the best possible home for all our cats and kittens!. Some of the things we look at are: Immunization of current Pets; Spay/Neutering of current Pets; Employment History; Landlord approval (if applicable); References. Veterinary Check (if applicable). If your kitty will be indoor/outdoor or both? We will also look at the cat you wish to adopt and determine if he/she will be a good fit for your family based on his/her personality and yours. We reserve the right to deny any application that we feel would not be the best home for one of our cats for any reason. OUR ADOPTION FEE IS $90. You will receive an email containing the Adoption Contract/Post-adoption Health Concerns, The Contract requires your electronic signature. Upon adoption, your new kitty will be microchipped. You will receive a 3rd email with an attachment containing information about the Microchip Registry. This document does not require your signature.
