Adoption Process

OCHS strives to assist adopters with every aspect of pet ownership. All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped; our friendly adoption counselors will tell you all about your new pet and answer any questions you might have about pet care.If there is an animal you are interested in adopting, please download and complete an Adoption Application, or come in to the shelter to fill one out in person. Each application is reviewed by an adoption counselor who will coach you on your new pet’s needs, and educate you on the basic responsibilities of pet ownership. Some of our animals are in foster homes or are out of the facility for the day, so please call ahead to ensure the animal is onsite for your visit. If there are any other dogs living in the home, a meet and greet is recommended, but not required (in most cases).
