Based in the Emerald City, we utilize our network of Flying Monkeys to bring resources to rescues, connect organizations, and help all the fur babies find their forever homes. We began as most rescues and nonprofits begin, with individuals passionate about making a difference. Founders, Stephanie Skeffington and Holly Gardner (friends since 3rd grade), are passionate about animal welfare and began dedicating all of their available free time to working with, and for, a number of rescue organizations. Through their experience, they realized that there was something missing in the rescue community – a Link! So we are setting out to connect rescues to each other, as well as to resources to help them succeed and save even more lives. So many rescues have to start from the ground up, when the resources and roadmap to success already exists and could be shared to help these groups become more successful. Providing introductions and connections between groups and nonprofits with shared interests and goals is another priority of Elphie’s Animal Alliance. These connections create powerful alliances. And all of this is done with the hope of increasing awareness about Animal Welfare and helping all animals in need find the care and homes they deserve. Our mission is to build yellow-brick-roads to connect animal rescues with resources and pets with their furever homes across the United States and abroad, based from our very own Emerald City. Our organization is named in honor of the one and only Elphaba (Wicked), a misunderstood green-skinned witch who only wanted to bring awareness to the mistreatment of animals and be their voice and advocate. So just as Elphie was, we are a voice for the animals.
