Animals available for adoption can be visited at the Eagle County Animal Shelter. We encourage people looking for a new pet to come spend some time with them in an effort to ensure a good match. Shelter hours are Monday - Saturday 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. All adoptable dogs and cats have been vaccinated and spayed or neutered. Although we take every precaution to ensure the health of our shelter animals, no guarantee of any kind can be given. Adopting a new animal is an important decision. When you decide to adopt a new pet, you are making a long term commitment to care for and provide for the animal. In return, you will receive the unconditional love only a pet can offer. It is the policy of the Animal Shelter that all dogs and cats be spayed or neutered and vaccinated before they are considered to be adoptable. Any person wishing to adopt an animal must be at least 18 years of age or older and adoptions are handled on a first-come, first-served basis. If you are a renter, please be prepared to provide landlord contact information along with a lease. Animal Services is always seeking foster homes for orphaned animals needing newborn to 8 week-old care, frightened animals needing socialization, and special needs animals who require healing or rehabilitation help. We may also need homes for litters of puppies and kittens, with or without mothers.
