Our Mission: The Dutchess County SPCA is an independent, non-profit, no-kill shelter. We shelter animals in need and secure permanent homes for adoptable pets. We provide practical and educational resources to the public to advance the highest standards of animal care and help keep pets in their homes. We enforce humane law throughout Dutchess County. We strive for a community in which all animals are treated with compassion and respect.
Please review the pet profiles. After you’ve chosen a pet from those listed, complete the online adoption form in your chosen pet’s profile. The application helps our adoption counselors assist adopters in the selection of a new pet, and allows us to determine whether an adoption is in the animal’s best interest. Once you’ve submitted your application, an adoption counselor will review it, checking your references. You will receive an e-mail at the conclusion of the review. If approved, you can visit the shelter during our open walk-in hours to meet the pet you are interested in meeting.
