Dogpatch Ranch Animal Sanctuary, Inc. is a 501 non-profit corporation. It serves as a rescue and adoption center for companion dogs. It is a “No Kill” sanctuary. We care for homeless, neglected, abused, elderly and chronically ill dogs that are nurtured and cared for in a manner that allows them to live out their natural lives. Dogpatch Ranch adopts out healthy animals to qualified individuals and families as appropriate placements are found. Dogpatch Ranch promotes spaying and neutering as the “ultimate answer” to pet overpopulation, as such, all dogs placed from our facility are spayed or neutered. Dogpatch Ranch is located in east central Alabama (Lee County), in the community of Salem. It lies on the state border near Columbus, Georgia. Dogpatch Ranch is situated on 20 acres, which includes wooded areas, pasture land, trails and streams. A barn, corrals, pasture land, outdoor and indoor kennels and the Dogpatch Ranch Lodge serve as the living quarters for dogs.

Lee County Humane Society was developed in 1974 as the solution to the growing problem of stray animals in our community.
