DRA is a 501(c)(3) organization created to focus on rescue. We are committed to rescuing abandoned and unwanted dogs and placing them in safe, loving homes. DRA is licensed by the Georgia Department of Agriculture and adheres to the Doberman Pinscher Club of America’s Code of Ethics. Doberman Rescue of Atlanta, Inc. (DRA) was created by people with years of experience in Doberman rescue. DRA Board Members previously operated and volunteered with the Atlanta Doberman Pinscher Rescue (ADPR), which is a committee of the Atlanta Doberman Pinscher Club. ADPR is not currently involved in dog intake or adoption. Doberman Rescue of Atlanta is made up entirely of volunteers. No one in our organization receives a salary.
1. Upon receipt of your inquiry on a specific dog, or adoption in general, we will ask a few initial questions. 2. After reviewing the answers we will send an adoption application in Word format. You can either print the application to fill out and return to us, or fill out and email back. 3. After reviewing your application, we will call your veterinarian and references, then call you to discuss. 4. At that point we can set up a meeting with your family and the dog. 5. If after meeting the dog you do want to adopt it, and we feel it is a good match, we will set up a home visit. 6. If all goes well at the home visit, the adoption may proceed.
