Founded in 2013, ‘Defensa Animal de Puerto Rico’ is a US Federal 501c3 and Puerto Rico Accredited Non Profit Animal Rescue Organization working Island Wide – to help dogs, cats and horses. We communicate daily via [email protected]. We help people to rescue animals anywhere in Puerto Rico if they can use our Rescue Programs. Our Programs: For cats and dogs we offer Vet Services with our Vets & Marketing for Adoption to anyone anywhere in Puerto Rico that rescues a dog/cat off the street and can foster or keep the dog/cat For horses we offer Vet Services when The Owner of The Police request our help. We do not handle investigations of abuse as that is the legal obligation of the police and the court system in Puerto Rico. We do take in horses when Police Requested - We make use of donated lands around Western Puerto Rico to home the horses in herds of 4 or smaller. Our dogs and cats can be available for adoption in the United States if the rescuer and adopter agree upon travel costs and logistics. All our rescued animals are FREE to the RIGHT home. We let the rescuer decide because they know their rescued animal best. Each year we touch the lives of around 250 animals. We post our detailed rescued animals & financial numbers always on our website. You will find many photos of the real animals we have helped over the years because of brave rescuers and generous donors. We feel not everyone or every organization can do it all. We all do what we can and support each other for the love of the animals in need in Puerto Rico.
