Dedicated to Dobermans Rescue is a registered and insured, 501(c)3 Indiana nonprofit charity organization. DTDR is dedicated to rescuing and permanently re-homing pets in need. We rely solely on donations and volunteers to save orphaned Dobermans and place them in loving, permanent homes. We are committed to spaying/neutering and getting our dogs all the medical attention that they need. We do not have a kennel or facility and all of our dogs are in foster homes while they find their forever home.
Step 1. You will need to complete an application. Step 2. Once we've received your application, we will review the information, conduct reference checks, and we'll call your veterinarian to ensure that previous pets have been spayed/neutered, vaccinated, on heartworm prevention, and well cared for. For renters, we'll check with your landlord to ensure that dogs are permitted and that the dog you're adopting wouldn't violate any size or breed restrictions. Step 3. We will schedule a home visit. During your home visit, we will have brief conversation with you to determine your needs and preferences, find out about your daily schedule, and talk about your previous experience with pets. The home visit and interview are to make sure your new pet has an environment with everything it needs and to make sure that the dog you are interested in is right for your whole family and lifestyle. It is also an opportunity to offer you further information on how to care for your Doberman, from vaccinations to diet and supplements, and for you to ask any questions you might have. All family members living in the household need to be present for the home visit. Step 4. Once your home visit has been conducted, you will be notified if you are approved, and we will give you the details of the foster parents of the Doberman you are interested in, so you can ask questions of the foster. A meeting can be arranged with the foster parent. Step 5. Once you have been matched with a Doberman, you will arrange a time to pick up the dog; we do not ship any animal. To complete the adoption process, you will need to sign the adoption contract and provide the adoption fee. The dog will be placed with you on a two week trial to ensure the dog is a good fit for your family. DTDR will be available during the two week trial and beyond for questions and support regarding your new family member. The adoption fee helps defray the costs of spaying, neutering, transportation and other medical expenses. All dogs are spayed or neutered, examined by a vet, given medical shots and treated for any medical condition they may have, prior to adoption. Donations above the adoption fee are always welcome! Our adoption fees may never recoup the costs we incur bringing some dogs back to health, but with donations we are able to sustain the organization financially in order to continue our mission. Every adoption brings desperately needed funds which are used to help Dobermans in need. By adopting a dog from Dedicated to Dobermans Rescue, you not only save the dog you are providing a Forever Home to, but you are helping to rescue others in need.

PawSwaP is not your typical animal rescue organization. Like most other animal welfare groups, we want to help community animals by providing them with proper vet care and finding them wonderful forever homes. However, our approach is slightly different. We look to keep the animals in their homes whenever possible. If that is not possible, we help the owners rehome their animals safely and respons
