Deaf Dog Rescue of America specializes in the rescue, training and placement of deaf dogs of all breeds. We work with the national deaf dog community, and educate on effective training techniques. We offer assistance to new deaf dog owners who need training advice, with the goal of helping to keep deaf dogs in their current homes. We also offer board and train services for pet owners and rescues. Our dogs come from other states, as well as our local area shelters. We focus on deaf dogs that have no safe place to go to, knowing that sometimes we are their last resort. Deaf dogs are often the first on the kill list at municipal shelters, due to the belief that they are disabled or require special care. We are the first facility-based deaf dog rescue in the country. The dogs are provided with loving care at a licensed indoor/outdoor climate controlled kennel. During their stay at the Ranch waiting for the perfect forever home, the dogs receive enrichment and training to give them the very best chance of blossoming into highly bonded, stellar companions. Our adopters are carefully selected and screened, home visits are performed. Post-adoption training is offered at no charge in our local area to assist our adopters in communicating with their new family members.

We do our very best to match our dogs with their new families well, so that we have a forever match. We’ll invite you up to the Ranch to meet the dog that you are interested in. The next step is your home visit. The purpose of the home visit is to make sure environment and fencing is safe, and to get to know you better, to help us match the needs of the dog that you’ve chosen. Once approved, we will move ahead with the adoption, and help you integrate your new family member into your home smoothly. Our adoptions include two private in-home training sessions at no charge for adopters in our local area. Food, treats, a toy, a matching collar and leash set and medical records are provided with each adoption. Our dogs are spayed/neutered, current on vaccinations, de-wormed, and some have been obedience trained. If for any reason you cannot keep your dog, we ALWAYS take our dogs back. We are a life-long safety net for our rescue dogs.
