Founded by Peggy Story in 2009, CareTX.org is a Dedicated Team of Pet Loving Rescuers. No creature showers us with such unconditional love, full of trust and forgiveness as a rescue dog. I witness that love every day. I see it in the eyes of those who adopt rescues when they come face to face with their dog. I see it reflected in the face of the dog who somehow knows that their human has arrived - at last! And it is inspiring. My own dogs inspire me every day to be my very best, and to always treat animals with the respect, dignity and love that they deserve. Indeed, the love I felt for my dog, Cressie, inspired me to begin CareTX.org (Cressie Animal Refuge and Enrichment) a rescue and adoption agency.
STEP 1. Adoption Form. If you are interested in adopting one of our animals, first, fill out the adoption form. STEP 2. Phone Interview. When the application has been reviewed, you must have a phone interview with a member of the CareTX.org staff. STEP 3. Vaccination Proof. If you have any other pets already living in your home, you must provide proof of all age appropriate vaccinations for those animals. STEP 4. Pay Adoption Fee. When you have been cleared for adoption, you will pay the adoption fee. Care is a 501c3 non profit and has been in business for 13 years. We survive with the help of volunteers and donations. Our adoption fee is $995. (tax deductible). Included in the fee is spay or neutering, all preventatives, chipping in case the dog is lost or stolen, all shots and vaccinations (up to the day of travel to you), all medical records, a health certificate showing the dog is in good health at the time of the flight, airline-approved kennel to travel in, and an American Airlines ticket to your airport. STEP 5. Welcome Your New Furry Friend! Once your adoption fee has been received, a staff member will coordinate the transportation method of your pet, medical records and rabies tag.
