Cooper's Chance Animal Rescue - Chandler Pet Shelter

Cooper's Chance Animal Rescue

We are a green focused, 501c3 nonprofit, no kill animal rescue established in 2006. Our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate and re-home abused and neglected animals. We are dedicated to the welfare of these animals and the gentle eco system that we share. We also educate the public on humane and responsible pet ownership through nonprofit partnerships, public education programs and grass root efforts within communities. Cooper's Chance Animal Rescue was started in 2006 by our Founder and President, Shannon Steemke after a tragedy involving her beloved dog, Cooper. Every year thousands of shelter dogs are adopted by loving families, hoping to give them a safe place to call home. But because of issues from abuse and neglect, those animals never receive the proper rehabilitation to cure their fears. Most pet owners do not know the how to train their shelter dog, and some issues continue to grow, until they are bigger than the owner can handle. And those dogs are often returned to the shelter, only to be euthanized, and never getting the help they need. Cooper's Chance rescues those dogs and focuses our efforts on the rehabilitation of the animal, to give them the best chance at a new life.

Adoption Process

Are you ready to adopt your best friend? If you're ready to make the commitment to rescue a homeless pet, we may have just what you're looking for. There are a few steps to finding your next companion, but it's all worth it to find your purr-fect match! The first step is completing and submitting an Adoption Application for the pet(s) you are interested in. Once we receive the application, we will contact you to answer any questions you have and to set up the meet and greet. The meet and greet is usually completed at your home with the pet, so your entire family can meet them. If it feels like a good match, the pet may stay with you for 24-48 hours prior to adoption for a "settling" in period, to make sure it's a perfect fit for all. There is never an obligation to adopt, our goal is to find a perfect match for all people and pets involved. Adoption Requirements: Must be 18 years or older; Adoption Application; Schedule meet and greet at your home with pet; Pet stays with you for 24-48 hour settling in period before adoption; Sign adoption agreement and pay adoption donation; Release pet medical and intake records
