Our not-for-profit mission, vision and responsibility guides our culture and drives everything we do. Our goal as a public charity-is built on a core value of respect for people, animals and our environment. We are a multi-facetted organization with our endeavors spread into Emergency Management (disasters) practices, protocols, rules and regulations and Animal Welfare practices, protocols, rules and regulations. We are not just a rescue group or just a disaster group - we are a community driven apparatus. 2011 we built and opened our own private NOKILL Shelter. This is the only NOKILL Shelter in JOCOMO. We are funded completely on donations and grants and operate 100% on volunteers.

W.A.R. is the organization behind the Old Drum Animal Shelter. We organized in August 2020 in response to the City of Warrensburg’s vote to defund our local animal shelter. The shelter is the only animal shelter in Johnson County, Missouri and has been an important part of this community for more than 43 years. W.A.R. assumed control of the shelter on Jan. 1, 2021. The city of Warrensburg and Jo
