Chicago Cat Rescue is dedicated to helping homeless cats and kittens via rescue, adoption and education of their human companions. Chicago Cat Rescue is an all volunteer-run organization, and we rely on compassionate individuals in our community to foster our rescued cats until they find their forever homes. Chicago Cat Rescue is unique in that all of our animals available for adoption are cared for in private foster homes. Foster homes make a great scenario for you to meet & mingle with your potential furry friend(s). A casual, home setting brings out the best in our cats and helps you gain a true sense of their personalities and temperaments. All of our foster homes provide flexible schedules to accommodate appointments with potential adopters. Chicago Cat Rescue is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization and all donations are tax deductible.
Once you’ve met the cat(s) you’d like to adopt, we will send you our adoption application and contract. We ask for a couple of business days to process applications, which gives you time to prepare for your new furry family member's arrival. Application processing includes contacting personal, vet and landlord references (as applicable). After your application is approved, we deliver our cats to their new homes. Our adoption fee is $125/cat and $150/kitten, to help defray our costs. All our cats are spayed/neutered, blood tested for Feline Leukemia and FIV, dewormed and vaccinated as needed, and micro chipped, in addition to receiving any other necessary medical care. We maintain follow up contact with our adopters by phone and email to help ensure a smooth transition, and to address any questions and concerns that may arise. We hope our adopters will use us as a resource both at the time of adoption and on into the future, as needed.
