Dedicated to the protection and care of all animals, the Charlevoix Area Humane Society is an independent non-profit 501(c)3 no-kill animal shelter that has been serving pets and their humans in Charlevoix County since 1974. We rely almost exclusively on donations and fundraisers to help the lost, neglected, abused, and abandoned animals of Charlevoix County.
The Charlevoix Area Humane Society is open by appointment only. In order to adopt you must have a pre-approved application. Once your application is approved, we will contact you to set an appointment for you to visit the shelter. Appointments are for adopters and their immediate family only and set for one-hour visits at a time. Thank you for your patience and understanding. Our objective is to accomplish our mission and keep you and staff safe and healthy at the same time!
