The Center for Avian Adoption, Rescue and Education (C.A.A.R.E.) is an all-volunteer North Dakota non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation devoted to the welfare of companion parrots. The organization is family oriented in nature, and both individual and family memberships are available. The organization is dedicated to teaching the public about companion parrots. Requests for on-site visits to schools, nursing homes, and any other venue are welcomed. We welcome persons interested in learning about companion parrots or adopting companion parrots placed into our care. Our mission to find suitable adoptive homes for these parrots is taken quite seriously. If you have a parrot that you need to re-home, or if educational meetings and/or possible adoption appeal to you, or if you already have companion parrots and would simply like to be in the company of folks with like interests, please check us out! C.A.A.R.E. is not responsible for the medical/nutritional views herein. You should always consult an avian veterinarian for specific guidance. C.A.A.R.E. assumes no responsibility for the claims or quality of merchandise of any advertiser.
C.A.A.R.E. has placed many companion parrots into caring and loving homes and is always seeking qualified homes for our foster and adoption programs. Have a look at the growing number of our adoptions-to-date and the parrots that are currently available for adoption. Not every home is suitable for the placement of companion parrots, some of which have suffered abuse and neglect, and careful consideration is given on a case-by-case basis to both the parrot in question and the prospective adoptive family during the application submission process. C.A.A.R.E. makes every attempt to ensure the well-being of the parrot being placed and to place the right parrot in the right home. Applications to foster and/or adopt may be submitted by anyone expressing an interest, however the final placement decision rests solely with the C.A.A.R.E. Foster/Adoption Committee. All adoptions are considered with the rules and guidelines set forth by the Board of Directors and the Adoption Committee. Applicants should be prepared to fill out appropriate paperwork, to submit to interviews and home visits by members of the Foster/Adoption Committee, to abide by all terms of foster or adoption agreements entered into with C.A.A.R.E., and to join C.A.A.R.E. as a member for a minimum of one year. Fees to adopt are based on the discretion of the C.A.A.R.E. Foster/Adoption Committee.
