Adoption Process

1) Fill out an adoption application. Online application is preferred. You can find it at the bottom of any page at northgeorgiaanimalalliance.org. 2) Once the application is seen it is reviewed by at least one cat or dog coordinatorat NGAA. 3) Landlord (if applicable) and at least one of applicant’s references is contacted. 4) The animal’s foster is contacted and the coordinator emails or goes over the application with the foster. 5) The applicant is contacted. This process can take up to 48 hours, depending on how easy or hard it is to get in touch with everyone involved. Once an applicant is approved, the animal can be adopted. Adoptions usually take place at Petsense in Fort Oglethorpe near the Dollar Tree/Home Depot where we keep the adoption packets the adopters will receive, but other arrangements are sometimes made. The adoption fee is based on cash payment. If paying by credit/debitcard, the adopter needs to go to northgeorgiaanimalalliance.org where he/she will find a “PayPal/Donate Now” button. If paying by credit/debit card, the adopter must add an extra $2 per animalto cover processing fees.
