Catahoula Rescue of New England is an all volunteer group whose mission is to advocate for homeless Catahoula Leopard Dogs, Australian Cattle Dogs, and mixes, to place these animals in permanent, loving homes, and to promote responsible guardianship through humane education. We have saved and re-homed many Catahoulas and Australian Cattle Dogs, and work diligently to save as many of these wonderful dogs as possible. We are a national rescue that place Catahoula Leopard Dogs and Australian Cattle Dogs with people like you who can help change their lives forever. We need you. The dogs come from high kill shelters and we do our best to save them all, but because of overpopulation and backyard breeders, we will never be able to keep up. The good news is, we will never give up either.
Step 1: Complete the Adoption Application. Please make sure all fields are completed. Step 2: Phone Interview. Please plan accordingly when picking a day and time with our representative. Step 3: Personal Reference Check. Inform your veterinarian and two personal references that we will be contacting them. Step 4: Approval Process. We will review your application as a whole - references and application. Step 5: Home Visit. One of our representative will visit you and your family members in your home. Step 6: Meet & Greet. You and your family will travel to meet the foster family and prospective dog to assess compatibility. Step: 7 Adoption. Adoption agreement will be emailed to you ahead of time for review and will need to be finalized with payment before you may leave with your new dog.
