CSHS has been serving the people and pets of our community and beyond since 1989. We are committed to working collaboratively with our community and rescue partners to provide refuge, medical care, foster homes, and a second chance to animals in need. We’re here for animals - and people.
Once you decide on a pet that you are interested in adopting, fill out an adoption application on our website. If you do not have internet or computer access, you are welcome to visit our Adoption & Wellness Center during open hours to use our lobby computer to complete your application. There will be staff and/or volunteers on site to help you with the application, if needed. Keep in mind that some animals may receive several applications and we do consider applications in the order they were received in our system. We call this First Come, First Considered. Our adoption advocates will contact you within 2 business days to schedule a phone interview. If you are approved to adopt, the adoption advocate will forward your approved application to the foster home where the pet is being cared for, or our Adoption & Wellness Center. If you are interested in adopting from one of our PetSmart partner locations, you can fill out your application directly with them. If you have not met the dog or cat, we will help schedule a meet and greet. We will conduct same-day adoptions whenever possible. Some exceptions may apply to this.
