CARES was founded after realizing that Benicia and Solano County needed more resources for the community to learn and find ways to help the area's less fortunate animals. We believe that we can speak on behalf of many animal rescuers that it is always difficult to turn the other cheek when resources are scarce for animals in need. CARES founder Marie Victa-Chua and her team agreed, and decided that it was time to take action and create an organization that can at least fill the gaps in our backyard and beyond: Benicia and Solano County, California. As such, CARES spawned out of a clear need for more resources for abandoned and feral animals. Specializing in dogs, our organization has committed to numerous collaborative efforts for saving our friends that may have otherwise not have had a chance because of overpopulated shelters and unfortunate family endings. With your support, we hope to continue to save and serve the disadvantaged animals in the Benicia/Solano area, while also providing educational resources and programs for humane animal care in the community.
