We ask that you meet the animal in person to help insure that it's a good match for both of you. Then you will need to fill out an application, with at least 3 personal references and a vet reference. We usually approve or deny the adoption within 24 hours. For cats, kittens and puppies under 6 months the adoption fee is $50. Dogs over 6 months old are $50, with a $5 licensing fee if you live within Bisbee city limits. Adoption fee covers spay/neuter and first set of shots. If you adopt a kitten/puppy under 5-6 months of age that has not yet been fixed, we will arrange a way for you to get it fixed. If you have a specific vet please bring vet info with you or give us the number and we will see if we can arrange for you to take the animal to your vet to be spayed/neutered. All adult animals will be fixed before leaving the shelter, but are posted and available.
