Basset Hound Rescue of Alabama is dedicated to rescuing and finding loving homes for homeless or needy basset hounds throughout the state of Alabama.
Shortly after your Adoption Application is received, our Adoption Coordinator will contact you. You may have a specific basset in mind, and this is the time to share this information with our Coordinator. A volunteer will make an appointment to come visit your home and talk to you about adoption. You will then complete the Adoption Agreement and submit Adoption Fees: Puppies: 0 to 2 years old: $275.00, Dogs: 2 years to 8 years old: $250.00, Dogs: over 8 years old: $150.00. Note: Ages of hounds are estimates determined by our vets at the time of intake. Please note: All fees and the Adoption Agreement must be received prior to the date the dog travels. After your Adoption Agreement and fee are received, arrangements will be made to get your new family member to you. Your dog’s records will be mailed to you within a week. Approximately 1-2 months after your adoption, you will be contacted by our Follow-up Coordinator. The Coordinator will be checking in with you for an update on your new family member.
