Our rescue is made up completely of volunteers. There is no paid staff. We love what we do, and it shows! We not only rescue dogs in need from shelters, owner surrenders and puppy mills, but we also work hard to help people learn about the breed and are always happy to offer advice and guidance whenever needed. We are a completely foster home-based rescue, covering the eastern half of the US. As such, we do not have a shelter to visit.
Bare Paws Rescue only covers the eastern half of the US; we don't adopt outside of this area. In order to adopt, please first read our adoption guidelines. This will give you all the information on requirements for adopting. Once you have read the guidelines, please fill out the adoption application. Because all of our foster dogs are located in private foster homes and there is no shelter to visit, you must put in an application and be approved before you could meet any of the dogs. Once we receive your application, we will review the information. We will contact you to let you know we have received it within a day or two. We will then do a veterinarian reference check and contact your personal references. If all checks out well, we will contact you for a phone interview. A home visit is required prior to adoption. Please understand that we are all volunteers. There is no paid staff, and we all work do rescue work in our free time. It may take 2 or 3 weeks to complete the application screening. We appreciate your patience!
