Everything that we do at Annie's is in hopes of finding permanent, loving homes for our "orphans" and giving them the safety and love that these great dogs deserve. Our ultimate goal is to get dogs out of the shelter and into their "forever" home.
First, we ask you to fill out an adoption application to get started. We want to know more about you and your family and want to tell you more about us. Second, we want to invite you to come out to Annie’s and meet the dog that you would like to adopt. We have equipment for you to take them on walks and even oversized play yards for getting to know each other. The play yard also allows you to bring out any dogs that are already in your home to let you introduce old friends to your new one so that we can make sure they will be a great fit for each other. To schedule a time to come out to visit, click here to email us and we will be happy to get you out for a visit. As mentioned, we focus on providing a safe environment for our dogs, many of whom experienced neglect, inadequate or dangerous living conditions and the fear connected with becoming lost. In supporting this safety goal, we ask potential adopters to participate with us in a home safety-inspection. Finally, spays and neuters are a critical aspect of our work here, because we want to help keep down the unwanted pet population. Caring for all of our dogs and all of their veterinary needs is expensive and we ask for a small adoption fee to help us simply cover the costs. Our current adoption fee is $200 ($80 for senior dogs; some other exceptions apply when needed) and helps us to ensure that every pet has the care that he/she needs and deserves. This fee goes directly back to the care and veterinary costs of the dogs for adoption, so not a penny is wasted.
