Operated by Margo Irvin and Charlene Irvin-Brown Against The Odds, at Prairie View Farm is an educational zoo that introduces people to the care and responsibility needed for animal ownership. We offer interaction with the animals while people learn about their individual needs. We have small animals ranging from gerbils and hamsters to hedgehogs and degus. Of course we have guinea pigs and rabbits as well. We also have a variety of livestock, including potbellied pigs, pygmy goats, and sheep. Horses of different sizes as donkeys and mules also live at Prairie View Farm. Personalized curriculum is available to coordinate the student’s educational goals with the farm visit. Curriculum and activities are developed by a certified teacher. She is licensed in elementary education, k-12 reading, k-12 learning disabilities as well as middle school life science. Opportunities for prairie tours and hay-rides are also available.
