We are dedicated to rescuing adoptable stray, abandoned and homeless cats and dogs. AFL was established in February 2005 and ever since then have offered an alternative to animal control shelters by housing the animals in foster homes until they can be placed for adoption into loving, permanent homes. We are committed to reducing pet overpopulation by providing 100% spay/neuter for animals in our care and strive to build lifelong friendships that will enrich the human-animal bond. We are always in need of foster homes, if you are interested submit a volunteer application today.
Submit Application - The first step in the adoption process is to fill out the adoption form. This will be automatically forwarded to our Adoption Teams who will carefully review your request. Typically teams respond within 48 hours. Review Process - We want the best match possible for the dog or cat, as well as the best fit for your family, many factors are taken into consideration during this process. After the initial contact and determination that the pet might be a good match for your family, the foster home will contact you and arrange a visit so you can interact with the pet in a home atmosphere. Visitation & Arrangements - If it is determined that you ARE the right fit for the animal, adoption papers will be prepared, arrangements made for you to pay the adoption fee & to pick up your newly adopted pet. If the pet is a kitten or a puppy, you may have to wait until the animal is spayed or neutered. Follow Up - One of our volunteers will make follow up contact to make sure that the transition is going well and offer assistance if there are any problems.
