About Time Rescue - Los Lunas Pet Shelter

Nowhere is this more evident than in our rescue program. Since we began working with rescues years ago, we have quietly helped many dogs in need. It is sometimes a very costly process to rescue and rehabilitate an dog in need, and find a loving home to adopt and care of it for the rest of its life, but one to which we are completely dedicated to. Our available dogs are put thru extensive socialization, temperament testing, and evaluations here before we list them - this way we have all the information to place them in a new homes that has the best potential for being a good solid matches and a happy home for life! We operate on a relatively small scale, as we are not a large organization. We are simply a couple individuals with large hearts doing what we can to help dogs in need in our community. We usually have a couple rescues available, and can sometimes take in dogs in need as well. We can also help with a screening process and help as a "matchmaker" between an individual who needs to place a dog, and a screened family looking to adopt. Many times the word rescue does not really apply. We sometimes list dogs available who are quite healthy, in good flesh and just need a place to live in retirement or simply need a new family to love and care for them. This process is more of a placement service for people who love their dog, and simply want the best for their pet.It should be noted that we do not become involved in forced rescue. That is accomplished by different legal entities in each state. We will assist only when asked. (We can provide a referral if a situation warrants.) Please do not be ashamed if you need to give up your IG or if you know someone who wants to. This breed is not for everyone and sometimes a new situation in the home makes it stressful for the family and the dog. If you do not have the time or patience, or need to place your dog for any reason, please don't hesitate to contact us. We will be happy to try to help you work through the problem, help you place the dog, or take the dog into our rescue program until it can be placed. Sometimes we ask for a donation if the dog needs to be spayed or neutered or needs its shots, but (even if you can't) no dog is refused. If you can no longer care for or meet the needs for your IG let us know and we will do our best to assist you.All efforts are confidential.
