Aarf Animal Rescue And Sanctuary - Mayer Pet Shelter

Aarf Animal Rescue And Sanctuary

Started in 2018, the history of AARF may be short but the experience of those creating it and its core volunteers have over 7 years of experience in animal rescue. Our mission, “Saving One By One, Until There Are None” is also not new but we are committed to making that happen. The donation of ten acres with a beautiful barn and pastures with fencing gave us a vision. It should have a western town theme so we built doggie “bunkhouses” where they have lots of freedom and playmates. Our barn has a meet/greet room, a volunteer room, an office and much more. It has all worked and we continue to build on that theme. Our residents come from owner-surrenders, strays found by good Samaritans, overcrowded shelters, neglected or abusive situations, wherever we can help. We also have a foster program which has cared for many puppies, some as young as five days old. We always do home visits before adoption. Rescues share a common mission and the sad fact is there are too many animals needing us. We believe in spay-neuter and education. We believe there should be more consequences for abuse and neglect. AARF is needed for many reasons and we must depend on the public for support. We love to share our stories and successes so please follow us on our website or “like” us on Facebook. Sign up for our e-Newsletters containing many of our Happy Tails and information about AARF events and happenings.
