We are an independent, foster based rescue for kittens & pregnant/nursing cats, serving the Lehigh Valley & surrounding areas, in Hellertown Pennsylvania. We primarily focus on orphaned, neonatal kittens under the age of 8 weeks old, as we have lots of resources in young kittens compared to other rescues. BPKR was founded by 12-year-old Riley in the summer of 2019, now 15, Riley has rescued over 230 kittens. We take in the smallest, most critical kittens, and give them a 2nd shot at life. We provide our smallest kittens with incubator units, oxygen, and lot’s of extra TLC. We work closely with a local cat veterinary practice dedicated to the well-being of felines, to give the best health care possible to our kitties. They perform all of our spays/neuters, exams, and all other medical needs. We take in our kitties from public surrenders, owner surrenders, craigslist, next-door, Facebook, and we will also pull from open-admission shelters when we have the space to do so. We are a foster-based rescue, meaning all of our kitties are cared for in foster homes up until adoption day. We do not keep our animals in cages waiting to be adopted, we aren’t a shelter.
Adoption is the most important part of rescue, and we look forward to giving our felines their happily ever after they so deserve. In order to be considered to adopt from BPKR we ask that you fill out the adoption application, if you fit our adoption requirements. If you have any questions at all please do not hesitate to contact us. Please make sure your committed to your application and the whole family agrees on the adoption. It’s extremely frustrating when we spend hours on an application and the adopter backs out. If you get a kitten from another rescue, you must let us know so we can withdraw your application. Applications also can be submitted & preapproved for general approval if your waiting for the right match to come along. This way you don’t have to wait as long to get approved when we post newly available kittens. Once you see us post new kittens that are accepting applications just contact us and say you have an approved application, and we will make sure you’re a good fit for that specific kitten. Please do not apply on a whim! So much time goes into every single application.
