4 PITS SAKE RESCUE is a bully breed dog rescue located in the Twin Cities, Minnesota. We build relationships with local shelters, our fellow rescue community and humane organizations to develop a network of supporters and volunteers in an effort to create a better world for abandoned and/or homeless pets. We strive to build educational & community services programs to help educate the community on rescue and to fight the ongoing stigma and discrimination of bully breeds. Our director is also a Minnesota Partnership for Animal Welfare (MnPAW) board member striving to connect and build a network with other rescue teams. The 4PSR team is dedicated to rescuing dogs left homeless for whatever reason. We focus on dogs in local, public shelters where they are at elevated risk of euthanasia. Our dogs are placed in loving, responsible, committed foster homes until adoption. As part of our comprehensive adoption process, we take considerable care in finding good matches and educating prospective adopters about the responsibilities and costs of bringing a bully breed dog into their homes and lives. All animals in our care are spayed or neutered and receive all appropriate veterinary care and treatment. All 4PSR team members are 100% volunteers. We are determined to keep administrative expenses extremely low so that virtually every dollar taken in goes directly to the care of the animals. Our group remains committed to the welfare of the dog even beyond the adoption process, providing advice and training suggestions whether 1 month, 1 year or longer after the dog has left our direct care.
All adoptions require an approved application, a home inspection and a meet and greet with the dog. All resident animals must also meet the same requirements as for fosters. Meet and Greet: We will coordinate with you and the foster to schedule. A board member or a rescue director will attend the meet and greet with the foster to answer any questions about the dog or process. Professional dog training is a requirement to adopt a dog from our rescue, because, remember: you are not only adopting a dog into your home, but you are becoming an ambassador of the bully breed! Our approved trainers are listed in the Resources section of our website, but if you have a preferred trainer let us know and we will take this into consideration. We do not adopt dogs outside a 2.5-hour radius of the metro area. Adoption fees are based on the age of the animal. Effective August 1, 2021, puppies are $450.00 (plus tax); 1 year to 7 years is $400.00 (plus tax) and seniors 8 and older are $300.00 (plus tax).
