1 Love 4 Animals continues the work begun in 1997 by Bill Smith, the founder of Main Line Animal Rescue, a widely respected, trailblazing organization he ran with great success for over twenty years. After leaving MLAR in June of 2017, Mr. Smith along with Dick and Marilyn Faris and a dedicated group of like-minded individuals formed 1 Love 4 Animals in order to continue their mission of helping at-risk animals: dogs and cats pulled from high-kill shelters (often requiring emergency medical care), dogs and puppies rescued from puppy mills, animals devastated by natural disasters, or left homeless by personal tragedy or loss of habitat. Mr. Smith's innovative advocacy campaigns have reached over half a billion people around the world and have received numerous awards. 1 Love 4 Animals continues to raise awareness to the plight of abused and neglected animals in an effort to enact positive change and end animal cruelty. Our unique humane education programs bring people together to celebrate, and improve the lives of, animals in your community and in other countries, and our volunteers are some of the most dedicated in the world of animal welfare.
1 Love 4 Animals places our dogs and cats in carefully screened homes. Excellent veterinary references are required if you have pets or have had pets in the last five years. We require a fenced yard (better underground fence systems accepted) but we do make exceptions if applicants live in townhouse communities with rules prohibiting dogs from running at large. All of our animals are fully vetted, spayed/neutered, vaccinated and assessed for temperament. Our adoption counselors will process your application within 48 hours. You must complete our easy application (scroll down) before we can move forward with any adoption. Please understand 1 Love 4 Animals conducts home visits prior to adoptions so our volunteers must drive to applicants' homes. If you live outside of our adoption area (which is quite large) we may have trouble traveling to your home/city/state so we suggest you adopt from and support your local animal shelter or rescue. There are many great dogs and cats looking for their forever homes in shelters all across the country (unfortunately.)
