Hi Kitty Kitty - Chicago Pet Shelter

Hi Kitty Kitty

Hi Kitty Kitty is a feline rescue and sanctuary 501(c)(3) non-profit group started in 2012. It began with three people and a garage in the Rodgers Park community when the founders came across a large longhair with grey tabby markings lounging in the middle of the road. Teddy Bear allowed himself to be picked up and taken into the garage, which was quickly converted into a cat home. With no response from the posters and finding the non-kill shelters full, Teddy Bear helped the founders realize the need to provide shelter and sanctuary for felines until they could be matched with their forever homes and human companions. As Hi Kitty Kitty became a dedicated shelter the first owner surrender that was taken in proved felines of all life stages, fur color, and appearance are adoptable. This surrendered grey DSH at 15 years of age would have ended up on a euthanasia list had Hi Kitty Kitty not been there to care for her and facilitate her adoption. In less than two weeks Gabriella was adopted into her new forever loving home! These are just two of the cats Hi Kitty Kitty has been able to save in becoming a dedicated feline sanctuary so they may have a chance to have the care and shelter all deserve. Serving the Roger’s Park community as a no-kill, completely cageless shelter, Hi Kitty Kitty ensures each cat taken in receives spay/neuter surgery, up to date vaccinations including rabies, FIV and FeLV testing, as well as any deworming or addition medical care the cat requires. This small independent sanctuary works with any felines; whether feral, semi-feral, traumatized, recuperating, unwanted kitten litter, owner surrender, abandoned and those from euthanasia lists. One focus of Hi Kitty Kitty is (re-)socialization in order to build trust with and in humans, if such a trust cannot be rebuilt we offer sanctuary to those cats who cannot be adopted out so they may live out the rest of their lives with us. Feline and human alike, we look forward to your visit at our sanctuary, and whether or not you are looking to adopt a furry family member into your family, or are looking to support through donations. We are also on Facebook sharing stories of the cats who reside and pass through here. Hi Kitty Kitty is a 501(c)(3) non-profit charity, and all donations are fully tax-deductible. No donation amount is insignificant, as donations allow us to continue our mission of providing these amazing creatures with shelter and sanctuary on the way to their forever loving homes.
