Tuba City Humane Society is an all-volunteer 501(c)3 non-profit rescue and foster group, located in Tuba City, AZ, on the Navajo Nation, with some foster homes in Tuba City and in Flagstaff, AZ. We do not have a facility. Almost all of our animals receive initial veterinary care at our main veterinary services partner, Desert View Veterinary Clinic, which is also where we generally do intake. We rely on the help of numerous volunteers who rescue, foster, transport, donate, and generally help us extend a network of care to the animals needing our help. Our focus is on the western Navajo Nation, in and around Tuba City, also including Cameron, the Gap, Coal Mine and Kaibeto, in addition to Tuba City. Tuba City is located in Coconino County, AZ, and the closest humane animal shelter serving our county is Coconino Humane Association, in Flagstaff, AZ.
Think through if your family/home situation is a fit for the animal you are interested in. Fill out and return the online Adoption Application to us. This is not a commitment to adopt, but expresses your interest in the animal, helps answer some basic questions, and helps us to start a conversation with you. We require an adoption application before setting up a meeting. If you have questions, contact the person listed in the bio of the animal you are interested in to get your questions answered. Contact info is listed in the petfinder listing. After we receive your adoption application, we will contact you and have a conversation with you about the animal you are interested in. Arrange to meet the animal you are interested in. All members of the family must be available to meet the animal you are interested in. Also, any other pets must be available to meet the pet you are interested in. If you are renting, you must supply a copy of the rental agreement verifying that you are allowed to have a pet(s). Arrange for a home check. Complete the adoption contract and pay the adoption fee. You must be able to complete all of the steps in our adoption process. We require that all members of your household meet and approve of the prospective adoptee, and that all other pets be available to meet the prospective adoptee. We do not hold animals for adoption, nor do we ship animals for adoption.
