The Lost Companion - Saxeville Pet Shelter

The Lost Companion

The Lost Companion is a feral cat management 501(c)(3) non-profit organization in central Wisconsin. We are dedicated to working with the public to reduce number of colonies of free-roaming stray cats, barn cats and feral (wild) cats in the Waushara County through Trap-Neuter-Return, or TNR. The Lost Companion was founded in 2006 by Deb Schulz, Kenlyn Kemps and a small group of dedicated animal lovers. A need was identified to help feral cat populations in the village of Wild Rose, Wisconsin. It quickly became clear that feral cats were a concern throughout Waushara County. To help these cats, a nonprofit organization was setup using the guidelines of Alley Cat Allies, an organization which has advocated for non-lethal methods to reduce outdoor cat populations for over a decade. Since 2007, The Lost Companion has spayed/neutered 3,273 cats and kittens through our TNR programs. Of these, 1353 kittens have been rescued, cared for and socialized at our Foster Care Center, and have found their forever homes by adoption through us and programs with our partner organizations. Please note that we cannot accept pets from the public. Our volunteers care for our cats/kittens at the foster care center. Adoptions are by appointment only at our foster care center.
