The Smyth County Humane Society (SCHS) is a non-shelter organization that advocates for prevention of cruelty to animals through education and public relations activities, facilitates pet adoptions by forever families and foster parents, effects pet population control through spay/neuter clinics with funding assistance for low-income families, works with rescue groups to save the lives of abandoned or homeless pets, and serves as liaison to the Smyth County Animal Shelter.
