We are a group of animal loving friends that have joined together to fill a niche in the Tri-County area of Southern Maryland. We are committed to giving "Second Hope" to hard to place animals (due to breed or age) that are searching for their forever homes. Collectively we have over 20 years of rescue experience, either with other rescues or by doing rescue on our own.
Second Hope Rescue reserves the right to refuse an adoption to anyone based on any information we uncover during our adoption process. Any home that only uses an invisible electric fence will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis and may not be approved. Second Hope Rescue will NOT adopt an animal to a home that has any unaltered companion animals. Exceptions "may" be made if there is a medical reason for this or if the animal is currently competing in AKC sponsored competition where the animal would be disqualified for it. All our animals are spayed or neutered before adoption. An application with references is required as well as a home visit.
