Saving Future Feral Cats - Stevensville Pet Shelter

Saving Future Feral Cats

Imagine that one day, while looking out your kitchen window, you see a cat scrambling from place to place, ducking under nearby cars and around trash cans. At first, you simply pass it off as the neighbor's cat, but as weeks go by, you start to notice the cat does not have a home. The cat may appear hungry, emaciated, and its fur dull. Such is the life of a feral cat—a cat without a home. You have the power to make a difference and help cats that are in the same condition. You can be the strongest advocate for community cats where you live by supporting caregivers like Saving Future Feral Cats. Support TNR (Trap Neuter/Spay and Return) and encourage spay and neutering of all cats. Saving Future Feral Cats is a non-profit organization dedicated to reducing the overpopulation and suffering of abandoned cats. We believe it is our responsibility as a community to care for the cats that we as humans have abandoned or failed to spay/neuter or forced to live outdoors.

Adoption Process

We carefully screen all of our adoption applicants to ensure that all our rescues go to a perfect home. We make sure that the family adopting is a good fit for the cat or kitten's personality. We look at the adopters’ past history with animals and how the pet will be cared for. We ask that all of our cats go to forever homes where they will stay for the rest of their lives. We require that all adopted cats be indoor cats only. We request this due to the dangers the cats face outdoors - birds of prey, other humans, dogs, wild animals, cars, to name a few. All of our rescues are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and have their rabies shots. All are microchipped and stay registered under our rescue as a secondary owner. Adoption fees are on a case-by-case basis not to exceed $100 to help fund the care of the adopted cat. Note: The costs associated with a rescued cat that is ready for adoption are: Spay/neuter, vaccinations, rabies shot, and microchip, which total approx. $65 -$100 per cat, plus any other medical and care expenses. Your donations will be used towards saving others by trapping, spay/neutering and caring for the cats at the rescue waiting for adoption. Please consider our rescue to adopt your next family member.
