Roll Over Animal Rescue is a 501(c)(3) not for profit charitable organization dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and careful re-homing of dogs and cats. We are not a shelter and we do not have a facility – all the animals in our program live in foster homes. We take these animals into our homes and care for them as if they were our own until they go to their forever homes. The time we spend with them helps us to learn more about them, which allows us to be able to provide applicants with an accurate assessment of the animal’s individual strengths and needs. Our mission is to place each animal in a permanent, loving home where he/she becomes a responsible family member. While we welcome the challenges that rescue work provides, it is not work we can do alone. We need help in the form of people and financial resources. Please consider joining us as a volunteer, a donor, or in any other manner in which you feel you can help. Your participation will be greatly appreciated by us, but – more importantly – by the animals waiting for our help. Roll Over Animal Rescue is located in Northeastern Illinois and serves Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan and Wisconsin communities.
STEP 1: APPLY - When you see a dog that you are interested in, please fill out our online Adoption Application. We ask many questions, all of which will help us decide whether you and the rescue dog you are interested in will be a good fit. Our questions are simply initial guides for determining possible matches. Make sure to fill out the application completely. When you press SUBMIT, the form will automatically be emailed to ROAR. STEP 2: TELEPHONE INTERVIEW - An adoption coordinator will call you and conduct an informal interview over the phone to get to know you, review your application and talk more in detail about the dog you are interested in. If at this time you are still interested in the meeting the dog, your references will be checked. STEP 3: MEET THE DOG OR CAT - Once your application is approved, we will contact you to make arrangements for a visit with the animal. Please select a time when all decision makers, including current animals, can visit together. STEP 4: ADOPTION - Should the adoption counselor and the family feel that a good match has been made; the adoption can be completed at the time of your visit. STEP 5: FOLLOW UP - Your adoption counselor will follow up with you to make sure you are enjoying your new family member and answer any questions you may have. Please know that, at any time in the future, ROAR will be available to help in any way we can. STEP 6: UPDATES - Although this step is optional, ROAR would love to get the occasional note or photo letting us know how your new companion is doing.
