Project Precious Paws was founded in July 2010 by a small group of dedicated animal rescuers who have a passion for helping find permanent homes for abandoned, stray, or relinquished animals. We took over the City of Montgomery Animal Shelter on October 1, 2015 and ran it until October 31st, 2019, operating it as a contract shelter. We will still be involved in animal work including offering low cost spay/neuter, veterinary assistance, food and supplies and rehoming help.

Decisions are generally not made on a first come first serve basis, but rather who is the best match for the animal and vice-versa, depending on the animal’s temperament, age, exercise needs, size, etc.
