We are a no-kill, 501(c)3 nonprofit dog rescue based out of Kingsburg, CA. Most of our dogs are pulled from shelters in the Central Valley, after which we strive to place the dogs in their best forever homes. Our organization is all about people helping animals, and animals helping people. Healing comes in many forms. It may be in helping an elder sitting in a hospital bed missing their own pet, or a BIG kiss at an adoption event. It could also be in the form of matching the perfect dog to a post traumatic stress veteran. Our group strives to make that connection between animals and people. Pawsitive Connections was founded in the spring of 2010 and has quickly taken on many new challenges including starting a community center, and expanding our intake program. First and foremost, thank you for choosing to save a life by adopting a dog! Pawsitive connections pulls the majority of our dogs from shelters in the Central Valley with very low adoption rates. The dogs and puppies that we pull from the shelters are then seen by a veterinarian, where they have all medical done on them. When they are ready to be adopted, the pups start coming to our Bay Area adoption events (often held at Petsmart in San Jose) on Saturdays to find their forever homes. We post most of our dogs on Petfinder, and additional pictures can be found on Facebook. If you are interested in a specific dog, you can fill out a preapplication for that dog and set up a meet-and-greet at an adoption event, or make an appointment to meet the dog at our facility in Kingsburg. Preapplications do not guarantee your adoption of the dog. We always want to ensure that each dog is going to be placed in a home that is the best possible fit for both canine and owner, and often times certain dogs attract a lot of interest, meaning we recieve multiple applications. We always speak to our adopters in-person to ensure it is a good match.
