The Nicholas County Animal Welfare Society was founded in 2008, with the goal of helping homeless animals in Nicholas County, Kentucky. We are a 501c3 organization. We receive no county or state funding, and rely entirely upon donations and fundraising to help our animals. We have found new homes or rescue for hundreds of animals, and reduced the shelter euthanasia rate by over 85%, saving lives as well as saving the county thousands of dollars each year. Our future focus will be on spay-neuter programs, educational outreach, and fundraising events so we can continue to save animals.
