Loving Paws is a non-profit group working within the community to help people and pets to live better lives together. We offer therapy/companion dogs to local area hospitals, veteran hospitals, retirement homes, schools, and people at home with learning or physical disabilities. We also offer free boarding for dogs of soldiers who are deployed overseas and National Guard members who are helping other American right here at home. We also offer foster care for shelter dogs which we work to place in loving forever homes. Having run two pet facilities over the past ten years, I really wanted to give back to the community. When a friend of the family had to give up their pet when deployed overseas, I knew what had to be done and Loving Paws was born. To be put in the position of having to leave your friends and family behind, and on top of that giving up your beloved companion is a heartbreaking situation. Loving Paws is committed to keeping that from happening at all costs by offering free boarding, long and short term, to deployed men and women, through Camp K-9. We are also here to provide boarding to members of the National Guard who, while still in the country, may be displaced due to disaster relief efforts. In addition, Loving Paws strives to promote good dog ownership in any way we can. We rescue dogs from local shelters, train them, and adopt them out as fully trained, socialized companions. We work with the disabled and elderly and provide free training for their personal companion dogs, and to educate on proper dog care. Our education programs are also offered to children at schools, camps, and scout meetings, setting a good foundation of dog health and care from a young age. We rely completely on private support from individuals and local corporations. Any amount will help our efforts tremendously.
