Little Giants Dog Rescue - Lombard Pet Shelter

Little Giants Dog Rescue

Owning four amazing dogs of their own, Tricia and Christie are very passionate about the love and understanding it takes to care for man-and woman's- best friend. They have always put the needs of their dogs before anything and understand that every dog deserves a loving home no matter what it takes. They dream of saving all the dogs in the world.....well as many as humanly possible. This is why they needed to do more and put all the love they have to those who need it most. With the help, support and understanding of their board members, Little Giants Dog Rescue was soon created. They were able to finally live out their dream of saving one dog at a time and finding their forever home. Little Giants Dog Rescue is dedicated to making sure that each life saved is their number one priority. They want to educate society on the importance of spaying/neutering animals to help with over population and any possible medical issues down the line. They want to show the world that every animal, no matter their background, deserves a second chance at life and a loving home. We are committed to being the voice and advocates for the Little Giants who can't do it themselves. Each Little Giant has their own story to tell and we get the honor of telling it.

Adoption Process

1.) Please fill out LGDR’s adoption questionnaire. Please be as thorough as possible. This helps us ensure that we pair you with the best fit dog basedon a variety of criteria, and as always, we will always act in the best interest of the dog. If you do not feel comfortable in answering any questions, please feel free to reach out to us to ask us about it and we will explain why the question is necessary. 2.) Once we receive your questionnaire, we will carefully review and reach out to you within 48 hours. 3.) We will set up a meet and greet for you to be able to interact with the dog either at our location or an agreed upon location. All family members who live in the home must meet the dog before the adoption can be completed. 4.) If interested in the dog and you have another animal, we will set up another time to do an introduction with the other animal(if this was not done at the first meet and greet)to ensurethat the animals get along with each other. 5.) We will also contact your veterinarian, personal references, and do a home check if deemed necessary. (could be 1, 2,or all 3) 6.) Our adoption fees vary upon age and needs but will always include: spay/neuter, vaccinations, microchipping, and will be heartworm free. LGDR will provide all veterinary paperwork to you. 7.) If you rent your home, please make sure you can show proof of the pet policy. 8.) Once all paperwork is completed, the dog will then be handed over to the new owner (you) to complete the adoption. 9.) You must provide your own leash and harness before the dog will be handed over.
