Little Big Dog Rescue, Inc. - Monterey Pet Shelter

Little Big Dog Rescue, Inc.

Little Big Dog Rescue is the little rescue with the big heart. We are a 501c3 non-profit rescue that is committed to: 1) senior dogs whose owners have gone into nursing homes or passed away; 2) dogs who are living a lonely life on the end of a chain; and 3) dogs who are treated as cash machines, inventory, and merchandise. The seniors are offered forever accommodations at Dot's Really Old Dogs Home, a loving residential retirement home for dogs. The chained and penned dogs who suffer for lack of love and companionship, and the dogs whose lives are placed at risk of being sold to dog-fighting operations, are rescued, vetted, spayed or neutered, socialized in a foster home, and placed for adoption. Was founded by Dot Terry and Jeanne Lou Shuck Hull.

Adoption Process

To adopt an animal from Little Big Dog Rescue, you will need to fill out an adoption application. Adoption fees are $200 unless otherwise stated. Senior residents of Dot's Old Dogs Home are generally not available for adoption. 100% of adoption fees are put back into the rescue so that another lonely and neglected chained/penned dog or yard-sale dog can be rescued. We are grateful for your interest. Upon approval, the adoption fee is non-refundable. The fee includes the following: de-worming; grooming (if applicable); heartworm, lymes, ehrlichia and anaplasmosis testing; all vaccinations including rabies; flea and tick treatment, microchipping and spay/neuter.
